Min+/- Model of Colon Cancer

Epistem offers the Min+/- adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) model; one of few models in which tumours develop spontaneously in the intestine adjacent to normal epithelium. This model simulates the human condition Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), in which patients develop numerous gastrointestinal polyps that can progress to neoplasias. This model is recognised for its ability to test therapeutic agents that reduce the incidence or progression of adenoma development.

Min+/- Model Description

Tumours develop spontaneously in the intestine over time, typically up to 16 weeks. The effect of a novel therapeutic agent on preventing or reducing tumour number or size is assessed.
