QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate will have experience selling pre-clinical (non-regulatory in vitro and in vivo models) services and GCP biomarker supporting services (protein and gene expression). Excellent communication skills are key (both to customers and internally within Epistem) - the role will depend heavily on successful in depth discussions with client scientific teams and occasionally with their business colleagues, tailoring services to deliver client solutions.

Ideally PhD or M.Sc., but experienced B.Scs will be considered. Must have had several years prior laboratory based experience prior to at least 3 years relevant sales experience.

The ideal candidate will

  • Be responsible for increasing revenue by generating sales from new and existing clients. Accountable for identifying and qualifying business opportunities, engaging with prospective new clients, and closing new business contracts. Must have proven abilities closing sales.
  • Indentify new prospects via trade press and databases (lead generation), open converations and present services.
  • Manage client relations via regular contact and understanding of the scope of clients’ projects and businesses.
  • Maintain a high level of scientific and commercial competence on relevant Epistem products and services. Be able to learn (sometimes new) areas of science and present Epistem services, skills and technology platforms directly to clients and at trade shows globally.
  • Be prepared to travel upto 50% of the time
  • Generate quotations from information provided by the scientific teams and have experience negotiating confidentiality agreements, service agreements and study agreements.
  • Work with the scientific team and clients to troubleshoot any problems during the course of a study
  • Use and diligently maintain the CRM database (Salesforce)
  • Be positive, energetic and self motivated.

Pharmacogenomics Principal Scientist / Team Leader

An exciting opportunity within a renowned gene expression laboratory to manage a team of PhD, MSc and BSc scientists delivering fee for service research and study partnerships to Biotech and Pharma groups. The team apply molecular profiling technologies to target biomarker discovery and validation, specifically in small biopsies using single cell technologies. Data generated supports patient selection and PD in clinical trials. QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD plus > 8 years experience, ideally in industry. Must be proficient in PCR, Array and NGS platforms with associated data analysis. Candidates with experience within a relevant commercial environment are strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will

  • Lead a laboratory group, both managerially and technically, in laboratory and bioinformatics functions, providing appropriate support and guidance to team members.
  • Have experience validating new targets, translating from laboratory models to the clinic, gererating data to confirm the mechanism of action and pharmacodynamics of new therapeutics, helping to select clinical indications and elucidate target prevalence.
  • Have extensive experience of gene expression techniques/platforms and data analysis (RT-PCR, Arrays, NGS), ideally within the Biomarker space. Experience using laser capture microscopy and RNAscope desirable.
  • Have experience designing studies, analysing data and preparing reports. Able to present the data to clients and discuss the interpretation. Must be skilled at interpretting complex, multidisciplinary, data sets.
  • Be responsible for solving complex operational, technical and data analysis problems.
  • Be the Analytical Study Manager for GCP purposes, ensuring compliance and working with QA to lead regulatory and client audits.
  • Support the business development team pre and post study, building trusted relationships with clients. Prepare and deliver presentations to both internal and external audiences. Generate customer centric solutions.
  • Be responsible for the operational budget of the team – ensuring studies are delivered to deadline and on budget.
  • Be responsible for delivering new products and services.
  • Assess competitor activity and specific commercial literature in order to identify and monitor collaborators/competitors and recommend new service areas.
  • Possess strong interpersonal / communications skills, dealing with the laboratory teams, clients and fellow study managers.
  • Present data and conclusions to peers and management, and participate in strategic discussions. Must have excellent written English and oral presentation skills.
  • Set achievable objectives, training plans, and perform performance reviews.

Molecular Pathologist / Team Leader

An exciting opportunity manage a team of scientists delivering fee for service research and study partnerships to Biotech and Pharma groups. The team have extensive experience developing and validating IHC protocols, in addition to more routine histological stains, within a GCP accredited laboratory. The successful candidate will be experienced in the molecular and cellular biology of tisues using several state of the art profiling technologies such as multiplexing, RNAscope and laser capture microdissection. The individual will be expected to have experience managing a team of highly skilled scientists. He/she will be responsible for liaison with clients re study design, delivery of GCP compliant studies and interpretation of resulting data with a view to developing long term repeat business.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in IHC multiplexing, RNAscope, and Laser Capture techniques. In Vitro Scientist

An exciting opportunity for an experienced in vitro scientist to work with both cell lines and organotypic (3D) primary cultures to evaluate new drugs and targets prior to in vivo translation. The successful candidate will support a senior scientist in both the development of new, and provision of existing, services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. with at least 2 years of work experience or B.Sc and at least 5 years work experience. He/She will have extensive hands-on experience isolating viable cells from primary epithelium and/or tumours and growing them as monolayers and 3D (e.g. skin, organoid) structures. Utilisation of clonogenic assays advantageous.

The ideal candidate will

  • Have strong relevant technical knowledge and research experience .
  • Have extensive cell culture experience, ideally in low-medium throughput efficacy evaluation / mechanism of action scenarios using both small molecules and biologics. Exerpience with co-culture (multi-cell type) conditions advantageous.
  • Ideally have used ELISA or multiplexing cytokine quantification platforms, performed FACS analysis
  • Have experience designing studies, analysing data and preparing reports. Able to present the data to clients (written reports and verbal presentations) and discuss the interpretation. Must be skilled at interpretting complex data sets.
  • Have strong verbal and writing communication skills – will have experience presenting data at scientific meetings
  • Be able to work well as an individual and in a team environment
  • Have attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records - thoroughly document experimental results in laboratory notebook and written reports
  • Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures; train other team members as needed
  • Be proficient using Microsoft Office, Prism
